H.E.R

the fire was on the first glance,
her eyes,
her lips,
a glow could not hide,
something in her smile,
her soft speech,
her touch,
held i but a captive,
and from that spot,
to the hour on the dot,
many of i had robbed,
thoughts.
the sun has risen,
the moon has shone,
and oh the stars,
through that galaxy have shot,
and she still be,
the cast in many my dreams,
her love is pure,
than a morning dew drop,
her love making,
robs me of many a breath gasp,
am left in sorrow,
and that loneliness cloud each time she be away,

SON

wipe those tears son,
the hunger i know hurts,
can tell from the crooky ribs upon your sides,
i see that pain,
been there,
felt that,
and none had pity upon my rumbling stomach,
that is the world we lived in and now you,
it was never my wish to get you there,
nor was it my fathers' on me,
just fate the mercy never has,
i hate to see you in those tatters,
and that fluid that from your nostrils ooze,
it tears my already wounded spirit,

and you son don't curse,
i did and it hardly helped,
your mama left,
a poor wretch she didn't want,
now a rich mans' bed she does warm,
hate me son,for letting her walk,
i hated myself though i didn't talk,
so you now know what a loss i was,
a worth nothing log,
left out just to rot,

but you are not me,
you got your time,i had mine,
you got your life, mine is gone,
talk to the sun,
walk with the moon,
and if you can dance with the stars,
for your life has just began,

signed your not worth a father,

GONE

on such a day when the cold gnaws,
and fog all beauty mauls,
she found fit a heart to tear,
with pitiless eyes,
and a face that shone with evil,
she did kill an innocent soul,
none knew such beauty a cold heart did hide,
a skin so bright yet a heart so dark,
all but for loving,
and though memories still dance around,
the pain never seize,
but what do it be,
than a patch upon a treasured garment,

life was easy,
and love was sweet,
tales from adages of gone sunsets,
now it be life branded,
and love imported,
nothing ever lasts but the pain...

WINGLESS ANGEL

in the drowning of a sad sun,
in the death of a never ticking clock,
eyes twitched,
bated breath,
sorrow was a mood, but today a friend that clung,
and in the glares from the shadows,
that in negotiation with a creator were,
a darker being sits,
his song never ending,
and he said,
your road was long,
but your time is gone,
they stand around,
but you lie alone,
do not shed a tear,
there be nothing to fear,
for yours be a time,
for another wingless angel,

grandpa song

the old man sat in his serene hideout,
solitude the buddy he always sought,
and in this quietness,
despite the murmurs of the yawning maize stalks,
and whining macadamia leaves,
the old man had peace,
and to it he sang little sad songs,
of the sons he had buried (daddy),
and the grandchildren he had lost (many),
and in the pain drowned words,
misery was told,
in words not so bold,
but much did hold,

and i tell of a song sang,
by a man in tear lines hang,

NOT SO MERRY

there was a carol,
yet not so merry,
candles lit,
a little light to accompany the melodious shadows,
there was a bell,
... a loner that sat up a tower,
an over aged rope the only friend it had,
there was a cock-a-doo once in a while did visit,
and to it be this day,
the moon was off and the stars were shut,
the clouds had ran and the wind was gone,
and in the sadness of such a dark,
a breath was cut,
a life was gone..
