A Prayer

Dear Lord,
to each day i wake up,
to sad stories of children gone,
too young to die mothers weep,
and to the news stands,
i see the horrific pictures,
of kids that are hunger struck,
nothing left but weak bones,
and i ask myself Lord,
why do the men and women,
they call leaders build vets for their pets,
and stations to wash their cars,
yet they do not dig a single well,
to quench these tods thirst,
all they do is steal the little left,
and bring 'help' when one is already dead.
do you see their fat faces,
that glitter from buffets they feast on hiding,
do you see their white clothed tables,
and the silver ware,
they are served on by that man with a tall hat,
do you see the greed in their eyes,
and the meaness in their stare,
and do you see Lord,
that soot covered pan,
that kid in tatters for clothes holds?
do you see the yellow maize seeds,
he calls a meal?
heard them say its relief food,
a dish not even worth for dogs,
i ain't taking it personal Lord,
all i wonder is why you say nothing on this,
hope you can answer me one day,
Dear Lord.
