tears of hunger

an old church,
a run down building,
i did see today,
as i took a walk home,
and my mind was flown,
to a long gone sabbath day,
that made a man change his religion,
for what happened on the day,
not only hurt but tore,
his faith,
and the tale goes,
along a coastal town,
in an island loved by many,
lived a kid,
hungry had he gone,
for a couple of days,
and on this fateful day,
he rose before the birds tweet,
and that cockrel never bit him,
to the early morning cold,
and he went to a friends' house,
who to him was more like a family,
than a mere friend,
and he said to him,
brother,
for three days i haven't had,
not even a slice of bread,
for three days,
all i have had is a glass of water,
find it in yourself dear friend,
and find me a bite,
to keep the stomach alive,
and the friend said,
lets head us first,
to that church,
and say a prayer,
and when we are done,
we shall have plenty to eat,
and the hungry man stared up,
up to the heavens and asked,
Lord is this my fate,
or another mans' sins am paying for?
