the lady i saw

through a cracked window i did stare,
down to that dark alley,
filled with shadows,
of figures illuminated,
by the creaky street lanterns,
and on that pavement walked a lady,
beauty in all natural ways,
so untouched it did display,
and onto her hand held a lad,
they spoke with the greatest of joy,
and love showed in their smiles,
and her eyes did shine to each of his word,
and as they disappeared into the night,
i was reminded of my loneliness,
of counting stars at the darkest hours,
and watching the full moon,
and of castles i did build,
in that air.
and a question did rock me,
what if she was mine,
would she have a meaning,
would i say we got the world,
who needs tommorow?
would i open the door for her?
would i be worth her love?
